  Great Service

  Jean Paul is an amazing employee. Very knowledgeable and exciting. He kept me informed on all the activities on the resort. Excellent service.

  Butler service is non-existent, do not pay for Diamond Club

  I really hate to have to leave a negative review on this property as the property itself, was beautiful, however, the service was lackluster. My friends and I went on a girls trip to celebrate 2 birthdays and the service we received put a damper on our stay. We paid extra for an upgraded experience, including a butler and were not given that service. We saw our butler, Mehlky, only on our first day and never again. We did not receive any of the perks or amenities that we paid for. One group did not get their bottle, the tv did not work, we could not get extra towel and when we asked for assistance, they directed us back to the butler, who never showed up. We saw other patrons getting food delivered to them on the beach and their every whim being met and that was not the case for us. I am highly disappointed as this is not the extra experience that I paid for. I will not be back to this resort.

  Disappointing Butler Service and Underwhelming Experience at Royalton Hideaway

  I stayed at the Royalton Hideaway from April 16–21, 2026, and I’m writing this review on my last day. Unfortunately, my biggest disappointment was the butler service. It was very poor—there was no proactive communication, and we only heard from the butler when we reached out first. For example, I requested a blanket on the second day and did not receive it until the day before we left. I booked three rooms for this trip, all of which were supposed to include a bottle of tequila, but one room did not receive theirs until our final day. There was also a lack of clear information provided at check-in. Each room came with $600 in resort credits, yet no one explained how to use them. When I asked the butler, Melqui, about using the credits to book a cabana, I was incorrectly told that it was not allowed—only to later find out that it was possible. Overall, the butler service added little value, especially considering the cost of the stay. The food was average, but I do want to highlight the excellent service from Sandy and Eddy at the steakhouse—they were truly outstanding. However, the overall entertainment was underwhelming, and the Hideaway (adult-only) pool closed early at 7 p.m., leaving very limited evening options on that side of the resort. Overall, the experience did not meet expectations for the price.

  A honest review

  A truly honest review: On arrival at the hotel, it was very busy and when we explained we were Hideaway guests, we were directed to follow the stairs down and find the Hideaway reception ourselves. Luckily, we must have looked lost and confused because Marlbin appeared. He showed us the way, pointing out key areas as we went. He then waited while we checked in, escorted us to our room, explained how everything worked, and later brought our luggage. He also gave us his WhatsApp number and explained he could help with restaurant reservations or anything else we needed during our stay. Our room was lovely and spacious, but we did notice a few things that definitely didn’t feel 5-star: a lack of attention to detail with cleaning, paint drips where touch-ups had been done and left unfinished, and a shower head full of limescale. The room was cleaned daily, and on several nights we had a turndown service with fresh towels, but this wasn’t consistent every night, which felt disappointing. One thing we found was a lack of useful information on arrival. There was no list of restaurants with opening times, no guidance on where to find pool towels, and the Royalton app was frustrating to use when trying to find information and schedules. As Hideaway guests, we had access to exclusive areas. However, it did feel a little misleading, as we were offered the chance to upgrade to Diamond status, while we also met Diamond guests who had been offered upgrades to Hideaway. The swimming pools were lovely, clean, and had plenty of sunbeds. We loved that there was no need to rush out early to reserve a spot. We did notice the main pool was being cleaned with a broom/brush rather than a standard pool vacuum, which seemed odd, but aside from the occasional day, it generally looked clean. Keilin provided first-class service around the pool with drinks and always with a smile. Sands Beach Bar is in a lovely location, but as we found throughout the stay, service was very hit and miss. While waiting at the bar, staff would often serve someone who had just arrived if they remembered they had tipped earlier. This became frustrating at times. We experienced a flood caused by a burst pipe during our stay. Completely unavoidable, but we messaged Marlbin straight away and he arrived promptly, arranged for us to use another room to shower so we wouldn’t miss our dinner reservation, and then offered for us to move into that room for the rest of the holiday as it had a better balcony view. That felt like incredible service. We ate at the steakhouse, Mexican, and Italian restaurants, with the Italian being by far the best. The buffet offered a great range of food, though one concern was the lack of attention to separating meat and vegetarian options, with the same serving tongs used for both. We also witnessed a couple with severe allergies struggling to get clear confirmation on ingredients. We also ate at the Hideaway restaurant, Dorado, which is in a stunning location. Service was fairly slow, but the food was freshly cooked. Daytime entertainment was varied and the Vibe Team gave 100%. Evening entertainment, however, was lacking. The Beatles tribute was painful to watch and definitely one to miss. The beach is stunning, and watching sunrise is a must. People walking along selling items or photo opportunities is frustrating as at times they come to the pool area. Overall, we had a lovely stay. Personally, there are many things that don’t feel 5-star standard. Little details in the rooms felt tired or not cleaned to the level expected, and service was very inconsistent. The biggest positive for us was Marlbin. He genuinely made our holiday and is a real credit to the hotel. If every member of staff were as helpful and polite as him, it would make all the difference.

  Excellent

  Absolutely amazing experience. We had diamond club in the hideaway section and it was worth every penny. We loved the staff so much. We had a rough start as we are from the U.S and our bank cards were giving us problems...the person that checked us in was so patient with us as we navigated through the inconvenience. We had a swim out room and we loved it! We went to the beach every morning then spent the afternoon in our swim out. Theres lots of activities like water games/sports/exercises theres dancing, karaoke and bingo. The white party was a huge hit! They had a light show and dancers, a stilt man. It was a lot of fun and very entertaining. It was our honeymoon and the staff decorated our room for us and even had a honeymooners banner on the door. We also had transportation to and from the airport and an excursion as well through nexus and that was great as well! drivers were timely and helped answer any of our questions promptly.
