  Pickleball vacation

  There are 3 pickleball courts sharing between the 3 RIU hotels. We played in the morning before it got too hot. They organized pickleball class/tournament on Monday and Wed at 3 pm. It was fun. Cindy from the customer service even invited us to their staff game on Tue night at 10 pm. It was really appreciated. Arianna from the RIUFIT hosted daily dances, TaiChi, Stretchs and aerobics class in the morning. There are ping pong table near the large pool. For the resaurants, we went to the La Baja CA couple times. The Kulinarium was good. However, the steaks were not the best cut and they were overcooked. The sushi could be better. They have many staff to provide various activities around the resorts. We stayed in bldg 1. It was away from the RIU Party aera. It was quiet with minimal outside traffic. However, the bldg doesn't have elevator. If you stay in the 4th floor, the stairs could be a workout. For the price and the amount of activities, it is a good value. During the spring beak, I could imagine the noise and craziness with the college kids. When we were there, the resort was relatively quiet. The resaurants had no wait and we had no problem to find a table.

  BOOK IT!

  We recently celebrated my sister’s 40th birthday with a trip to Riu Santa Fe, and it exceeded our expectations! There were three of us, and we booked a room with three beds—it was perfect. The room was incredibly clean, spacious, and comfortable. Honestly, the entire resort was spotless the entire time we were there, which really stood out. The staff was consistently friendly, helpful, and welcoming. I’ll admit, I was a little hesitant about booking after reading mixed reviews and knowing it’s considered a value resort—but I would absolutely go back without hesitation. One of our favorite “hidden gems” was the water slides! Not many people seemed to be using them, so it felt like our own little secret. It was such a fun highlight—we felt like kids again, especially being able to grab pizza and a beer between runs. The beach was amazing. While it’s not ideal if you’re looking to swim in the ocean, it’s perfect for long walks and relaxing while listening to the waves. I also had two beach massages from Lilly under the blue umbrella, and they were incredible. I highly recommend going around 7 AM—the beach is quiet, peaceful, and nearly empty. The food was better than expected. We always found something we enjoyed at the buffets, and there was plenty of variety. With 10 swimming pools, it never felt overcrowded, which made the experience even more relaxing. The gym also had a beautiful view and all the standard equipment you’d need. Overall, we had an amazing trip, and I’m already ready to book my next stay at Riu Santa Fe!

  Worst Vacation Experience Ever

  Do Not Stay Here – Worst Vacation Experience Ever I strongly advise against staying at this hotel. From the moment we arrived, the problems never stopped. On our first day, there was no bottle of water in the room. When I phoned front desk, they simply told us room service would bring some “tomorrow.” I ended up walking to the nearby bar and carrying two cups of water back myself. The worst issue was the free airport departure shuttle is a scam. We are a group of 4 families (14 people total). The hotel sent us a text confirming the free drop-off service that we did in 24 hours, and we double-checked the schedule with them the day before departure. However, they told us we had to pay $10–15 USD per person. Both the Destination shuttle company and the Riu hotel’s customer service kept passing responsibility back and forth. We wasted four hours waiting and arguing. On the last day, when we were ready to leave, they told us the bus was full. In the end, we had no choice but to order Ubers and pay $80 per family out of pocket to the airport. To top it all off, we found a large cockroach in our room. This was by far the worst vacation we have ever had. The poor service, false promises, and complete lack of accountability ruined what should have been a relaxing trip. Save yourself the stress and money — stay somewhere else.

  Nice stay with the family

  Location, food, pools, amenities, service were all great! My 3 kids, aged 9, 11, and 13 loved it. Minor issues - rooms were not super sound proof and you could hear guests outside late into the evening. We were also bit by many mosquitos over the last few nights. Overall we had a great time and are willing to return.

  Great stay

  Everything was as expected, night shows are always entertaining, Baja California restaurant is as good as any other specialty restaurant, pizza place next to water park it is as good as many people have mentioned, Hilario he is an exceptional employee, I had the best customer service experience every day I was at the Baja California restaurant.
