Excellent all around
Visited the RIU Miami for two weeks - given an excellent room with a great view on the 9th floor. Rooms are quiet, well-sized, and very well lit. The only slight problem is a lack of privacy due to the low walls between the terraces, but to be expected in this sort of construction. Breakfast service is excellent, although choice did vary a bit on some days.

Lovely hotel, great location
We had a lovely stay overall. The hotel was beautiful, the room itself was spacious and well-presented, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The breakfast was absolutely amazing with a great selection to choose from. The pool area, bar, and direct beach access were all excellent and really added to the experience. The only downside was the lack of soundproofing in the rooms. It felt as though the walls were very thin like being in a tent as we could clearly hear conversations and everyday noise from the rooms on both sides, as well as from the room opposite. The large gap under the room doors seemed to make this worse. Location was spot on as you could ride to south beach on a citibike in 15mins along the boardwalk or a 20min taxi to downtown Miami or bayside. Despite this, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

NIGTHMARE EXPERIENCE BEFORE OUR WEDDING DAY
Our experience with the wedding venue department at this hotel was extremely disappointing and one of the most stressful experiences we faced while planning our wedding. Three months before our wedding, we visited the hotel because my husband had previously worked there and knew one of the managers, who highly recommended the venue for our reception. We were then referred to the new Events and Venue Manager, Jesus Delgadillo. Unfortunately, from our very first interaction, we experienced a lack of professionalism and communication. After our initial meeting and request for information, it took nearly a month to receive a response by email. Throughout the planning process, responses were consistently delayed, and each new conversation seemed to remove previously discussed services or change agreed-upon details. One of the most concerning issues involved the pricing we received. We were quoted over $1,000 for ten bottles of champagne that were listed at $36 each, which raised serious concerns and confusion regarding the accuracy and transparency of the proposal. Additionally, from the beginning we specifically requested that the buffet be set up inside the reception venue. This request was eventually approved after weeks of delayed communication. However, approximately one month before our wedding date, we were informed that the buffet would instead be moved outside the venue. We were also told that music too high would not be allowed in that area and that our event and we were agreed to keep a decent volume but later he changed it for not music at all, end time would be changed from 11:00 PM to 10:00 PM. These last-minute changes created tremendous stress, frustration, and uncertainty during what should have been one of the happiest times of our lives. As a result, we were forced to start searching for a new wedding venue only weeks before our wedding, which led to additional expenses, countless hours of planning, and unnecessary emotional distress. Ultimately, we made the difficult decision to cancel our plans with this venue and search throughout Miami Beach for an alternative location. Fortunately, we found another hotel with a much stronger reputation and a highly professional events team that successfully accommodated our needs. Looking back, it turned out to be one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Another major concern was that throughout the entire process, it often felt as though there was never a genuine intention to finalize an agreement with us. Every time we believed we had reached an understanding regarding the terms of our wedding reception, the conditions would change. Previously discussed arrangements were repeatedly modified, restricted, or withdrawn altogether. Basic elements that are commonly expected at a wedding reception—including the agreed buffet setup, music arrangements, and event schedule—became ongoing points of contention. Rather than working collaboratively to accommodate reasonable requests, we constantly faced new limitations and unexpected changes, making it extremely difficult to plan our special day with confidence. While we are grateful that our wedding day ended up being beautiful and successful, the experience we had with this venue's event management was deeply disappointing. We believe there is significant room for improvement in communication, professionalism, consistency, and customer service. Couples planning one of the most important days of their lives deserve clear communication, transparency, and reliability from the very beginning. We hope the hotel takes this feedback seriously and reviews how its events department operates so that future couples do not experience the same level of frustration and disappointment that we did.

Vaction
Everything was good, up until check out we were charged for the 25% voucher for dinner in which we were nvr told that if we didn’t wanna use it we had to bring it back to the front desk and let them know. We only ate breakfast which was free for us and we ate at the alligator bar which fine. But I would like my refund for being charged for the voucher for 25%, our first two days we ate out at subway and dominoes
