A lot of bad points make this place a massive risk
The hotel is in excellent condition. The dining hall and general staff are lovely. There are some factors that might impact some, for example, the hotel is right next to the very busy and noisy German beer hall area, but noise from here is limited once in the hotel complex. The all inclusive badge is also very misleading. Alcohol is only included at lunch and dinner and it is simply beer (one variety), and cheap red/white/rose wine. There are no other alcohol options available unless you pay. We also required gluten free food for one member of the family, and whilst there were options, they were extremely limited, despite informing the hotel beforehand, some night only salad and one type of grilled fish available from a massive buffet range. The food at breakfast, lunch and dinner is good quality, but the food available 24hrs as part of the all inclusive snack bar is very poor quality and generally cold or poorly cooked. Our stay was especially bad as we went as a family with our five week old. We chose a large hotel from an established group, Riu, hoping this would ensure we were comfortable. Sadly the hotel operates a ‘off season’ policy with their air con: it only works from 2-8pm. In addition, the air con, when on, is in some sort of eco mode, so the room never dipped below 24 degrees, and was nearly 26 during the night. This was dangerous for our baby and incredibly uncomfortable for us. Staff told us to relax, ‘kids in Spain manage without air con’, offered to move us to a different room (where the air con also didn’t work) and gave us a fan (to blow warm air around). We planned on leaving and going to another hotel for the safety of our baby. Then, magically, on the 1st May, the air con started working as it was now not the ‘off season’. So ultimately, the hotel system could have worked, but they choose not to turn it on fully, despite us showing them a range of medical and health references related to temperature for young children and babies. We found this disgusting. We even spoke to the Manager of the Hotel, who feigned shock at the temperature, but did nothing. The reason we know the above system to be true is because one staff member quietly told us this was how Riu operated the air con/heating. So if you want to control your temperature, either making it hot or cold, don’t go here. If you want your baby to be safe, don’t go here. If you want honesty from staff, don’t go here. If you want food allergies catered for, don’t go here. If you are expecting all inclusive to mean a nice cocktail by the pool or quality wine with dinner, don’t go here.

Not enjoyable
This is not an all inclusive hotel. The 3 meagre alcohol drinks allowed per person for lunch & dinner were very small measures..the beers were not even half a pint in measure & were not allowed to be taken out of the restaurant to the lounge or hotel room. The food was substandard for a 4 star hotel..lunch was pretty appaling. The hotel is very small, I'm so glad we didn't visit in peak season. Out of 3 swimming pools 2 we're very small. It's such a shame as we've been to far better riu hotels with a 4 star rating. I would call this hotel 3 star rating. The area & hotel is at least 95 per cent German clientele. Very rowdy area. We will still visit riu hotels in the future but never at this hotel again.

March Solo
Couple gripes - I think it’s quite expensive when you take into account it’s not all inclusive. Due to the laws in Balearics, 0’0 all inclusive now means only 3 drinks are provided at lunch/ dinner. They are incredibly small too, I would say wine is around 100 ml pour (if that) with beer being around 200ml. The price of drinks to buy was well priced but I booked it thinking it was all inclusive without being aware. The check-in and checkout service were faultless, quick and easy and super friendly. The sleep quality I’ve marked down as it was super noisy with other guests in the corridor or rooms adjacent, was after midnight by the time it started quieting down. Great location although it is extremely tailored to German (hate to sound like a classic Brit abroad!), I tried 3 bars to watch the Boro match and got told they only play German football, serve German food and German beer and play German music. I am unsure how this hotel would fare if at capacity in high season, there was a queue for the restaurant one night and that is in March. That said the food on offer was exceptional, always hot and fresh with so much variety. You could not go hungry! Whilst I would like return, the price would have to be right. It is looking around £1400+ for 4 nights during high season, which I’m not sure is worth it when there is other fully all inclusive properties nearby.
