The resort was very nice. The rooms and the property was well maintained. You always see the workers cleaning. Some of the workers in the buffet area werent as nice, some were rude. Javon, Dennisa, Cheryl, Romario and a couple more workers were super nice and went above and beyond. It made our stay that much more pleasant.

Upon arrival there was a large queue however, we were offered refreshments which was a nice gesture. It would have been helpful to have more bell boys available because unfortunately, we were left standing after check-in for a long period of time not knowing who could take our bags. We made our way to our rooms and noted that the lifts were hot, stuffy and smelly. In addition, the tiled floors in the corridors were very slippery (highly polished) after it had been cleaned therefore, making this a hazard. Nevertheless, we were blown away by the room itself which was clean, modern, spacious and had lots of storage. The cleaner for our rooms did a fantastic job daily, she is a credit to your team. Unfortunately, on her days off the cleaners who were covering her did not maintain her standard i.e. not putting the throw on the end of the bed, not laying the towels out and no care taken to lay the pillows in a presentable manner. I want to add that on our second week (Monday 25th May 2026) the drinks in our rooms were re-stocked. However, the person to restock the rum in particular did not connect it properly and so, the rum fell down and the liquid spilled out everywhere. It took 4 phone calls over 3 days for action to be taken i.e. cleaning and replacing the rum bottle so that it was fit securely. The actual hotel itself was beautiful, the design and layout gave a luxury feel. The public W.Cs do not have a hook at the back of the door to hang your handbags which is unhygienic and could be improved. the bar staff were for the most part responsive, although at times easily lost track of who was next making the wait time longer. Also, some bar staff were not always warm and welcoming and this should be reviewed especially when providing customer service. The buffet food in the main dining hall was sometimes repetitive, limited, overcooked, burnt or undercooked. Some foods had been reheated and this was clear as it tasted stale. In particular, oxtails were often tough, cornmeal porridge was inconsistent, yam was stale, salt fish was hard and the snapper & curry chicken was undercooked which we reported. Although there were things that could have been improved we did enjoy the food on some days and we were impressed by the speediness of the lady who cooked the omelettes in the morning. We also wanted to give a special shout out to Talia and Zania who took great care of us daily.

Vacation in Jamaica
Riu OR is an amazing place. From nice rooms, spacious dining, great nightly entertainment, beautiful beach, friendly staff and very well maintained grounds.

Great Trip
Great entertainment, food, & staff. Natalie with the pool entertainment was excellent. Came and checked in us every day and got us to participate in games. Pool bar staff made sure we were always taken care of.

Excellent Resort
Loved our stay at Hotel Riu Ocho Rios. The hotel is about an 1 1/2 hour from the airport but then close to all the activities we wanted to do. The food was good, the hotel was right on the beach and was clean. The entertainment at night was exciting, entertaining and interactive. Our room was clean and comfy. The waterpark on site was a lot of fun even for adults! I would definitely recommend this hotel
