Riu Jalisco was a great hotel. We loved walking the beach! The buffet breakfast was terrific. Our rooms were well appointed and comfortable. It was disappointing that we had to pay for use of umbrellas each day at the beach. The a la cartes were glorified buffets. Food was good, but overall not much personal service was offered at meal times. Lines at the pool bar were sometimes very long. Use the sports bar close by, it served the best drinks at the resort. Overall we had a great holiday.

If you’re hoping for a quiet vacation, I would not recommend. I’ve been to family friendly resorts before, but there are children literally everywhere. You want to sit in the pool loungers and read? Think again. You want to escape the kids and go to the adult pool? Have fun being in water where drunk adults have been spilling drinks & sitting all day without getting up once to use the washroom. Go to the beach for some quiet? There isn’t an ounce of shade. Very family friendly, but would not recommend to adults looking for a quiet & relaxing vacation. The rooms and food are good though.

Amazing Resort
My wife and I had a great time at the Riu Jalisco. Great food, drinks and excellent service. The staff was extra friendly. And the resort was exceptionally clean. Bravo!

Everything was fantastic!
We loved this resort. We have been to many resorts and this one is by far the best. The food quality, quantity, and selection was perfect. The hotel and rooms are all nice, clean, and updated. The resort is not massive, so getting around was easy. If you need to use an elevator and have limited mobility, I'd request a room closer to the only elevator. The app worked well for requesting more water and pop for the room fridge. If you require pool side/beach chair drink service, we did not see any. That was the only negative, but we actually didn't even notice that it was missing until the 3rd day. While they had 4 specialty restaurants, none of them took reservations. Not a big deal as we waited only 15 minutes before they opened to get a table. It is better to have that than to not be able to get any reservation during a short stay. The other pros of this resort definitely made up for those downsides. We have never gone back to a resort more than once, but we will come back here.
