Dining venues are plentiful with 10 restaurants (both a la carte and buffets) offering an array of sumptuous choices and themes. You'll notice details in decor pertaining to each restaurant's ethnic inspiration. Another unique feature is an upper-esplanade of open-air kiosks with tacos and ice cream, snacks, and samplings of Brazilian meats. A large terrace with tables and chairs overlooks the entire resort.
Enjoy unlimited beverages in seven bars, and non-stop activities around the resort. Tennis, water and land aerobics, volleyball, water polo, a scuba clinic, and non-motorized watersports are available. Lounge at the three pools and swim-up bar while kids are busy at the Kids' Club (ages 4-12).

Apr 23, 2026Amazing resort, amazing people!!!
There are many resorts at Punta Cana, DR and all competing for your business. We choose the Occidental Punta Cana time and time again because of the service and the incredible beachfront the resort offers. There were eight of us on this vacation, and we booked the Royal level however, we always ate our breakfast at the main dining area. Two of our favourite individuals, were the gentleman who was making the omelettes in the morning His name is Sasa. This guy is always happy has a smile on his face and extremely welcoming when you approach to have your omelette made your way. He is more than happy to accommodate everything you need. Also, our second favourite Guy is Miguel Ramos, he made our trip so enjoyable with his staff always there to top off your glass, or remove your empty plate, always asking if there’s anything else that can get for you. My family and I enjoyed this trip immensely, and this is not our first time there and we will continue to go back due to the service and views and atmosphere of this beautiful resort. Kudos to the staff at the Occidental Punta Cana Edmond H.

Apr 22, 2026Avoid this all inclusive even if it looks good in photos
What a huge dissapointment after a 5 night stay. The food was just dreadful and much of it inedible but all in large quantities. I existed on papaya and watermelon. The only edible restaurant was the Italian one. The rooms are large. The ACs have no functioning thermostats. Bathrooms are not very clean and we had soap one night and shampoo three nights. Otherwise they give you plenty of drinking water. The beach is nice but apparantly you can only be in some section of it. I will not come back and to be honest it really turned me off on the whole all-inclusive thing even though I had a better experience in Mexico. Also made a poor impression of the DR as the staff and people I interacted with were aggressive and did not seem to understand hospitality.

We had a great time at the resort. There were 4 adults in our group and we shared a family jr. Suite - there was plenty of room for us- a King bed and 3 couches that were also a single style bed. We had everything we needed in the room when we arrived late. Late night snacks of pizza and tacos were available all night till 6am upstairs. We booked seafood, Steak, Italian and Asian dinners without difficulty, would only book 2 days in advance- Seafood was our least favorite- sides were cold, Steak dinner was ok- cooks on the steaks were inconsistent from what we ordered, and huge portions sizes. We really enjoyed the Italian & Asian the best. Crapes at breakfast and lunch buffet were great- especially with fruit, otherwise we found the breakfast & lunch buffet underwhelming, but were never hungry, ate most lunches at the snack bar above the pool bar- always had a good selection. No one in our group was sick from food. We never had any trouble finding chairs at pool or beach, mostly natural shade from the palms. Main poor was huge and busy by the bar, 2 other quieter pools to choose from. Beach was beautiful, and beach entertainment was fun. Nighttime entertainment was ok, started a little late for us- always people sitting for hour before waiting to be entertained- Michale Jackson show was great! Overall, this resort was great value for what we paid!

Apr 19, 2026Leaking roof....nasty management team
1. The room above ours was leaking. Dirty water was pouring into the closet with my open suitcase, and my bagpack with my computer and passport. They all get wet. I complained to the supervisor, Gabriella. She said I am sorry. But there is nothing the hotel can do to help you. Nope, there was no compensation, no nothing. Me being a rewards member did not even matter. 2. The phone in the bedroom did not work. You have to leave your room and go elsewhere to call the front desk or to get any service. 3. We traveled with and paid for three adults. They gave us one room with 1 king bed and a sofa. We had to actually ask for blankets for the sofa. Yes sofa, not a sofa bed. 4. The towels were worn. 5. The place is dated. Old furniture.

Nice place to stay
Stay was good. Not a 5 star place but it served the purpose. It was clean which is the most important to me, most of the staff are friendly. Food was good. I would stay here again.
