  Great week away

  We had a fantastic stay at the Occidental Caribe in Punta Cana and would absolutely recommend it. The standout feature is definitely the staff, they are exceptional. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and genuinely committed to making our stay enjoyable. We want to give a special thank you to Isaury from Guest Experience, who truly went above and beyond for us during our stay. From the moment we met him, he was incredible, attentive, and always willing to help with anything we needed. Whether it was answering questions, making arrangements, or simply checking in to make sure everything was perfect, Isaury made us feel genuinely cared for. His dedication and positive attitude really stood out and made our vacation even more memorable. The entertainment team was fantastic ( Sebastian (peluche), Lulu, Wellington, Mirtha, Maria, David, Raimely) they played a huge role in making the resort feel lively and fun throughout the day and night. They did an amazing job organizing activities that catered to guests of all ages, so there was always something going on no matter your interests. From games and events in the pool to activities on the beach, they kept the energy up without ever feeling overwhelming. In the evenings, the entertainment continued with shows and performances that were enjoyable and well put together. Their enthusiasm and effort really added to the overall experience and made each day feel a little more special. The resort itself is very clean, well-maintained, and has a perfect layout. The pools are amazing, both have plenty of space, great atmosphere at the one and a perfect spot to unwind at the other. The beach is just as impressive, with soft sand and beautiful views that really capture what you imagine a Caribbean getaway should be. The rooms are a bit dated in terms of decor, but everything works perfectly, and they are kept very clean. Food was another highlight. There are many options to choose from in the buffet and the a la cartes are amazing so it never felt repetitive, and we always found something we enjoyed. The drinks were also amazing, well-made, and refreshing. Some of the exceptional staff that made our stay a memorable one, Yenibel Carrasco, Nilson, Daibelis, Angel at the pool buffet, the bar tenders at the beach pool and lobby bars Ana, Luz, Katherine, David, Santa, Carolina, Maria, Elizabeth, Katherine, Ruth, Ceferino, Jean at the theater bar. Our housekeeper Paola Gonzalez, Esmeralda in Guest services. Overall, this resort delivers where it counts: great service, cleanliness, beautiful surroundings, and a fun and relaxing atmosphere. We will definitely return to the Occidental Caribe

  Not a good experience 😕

  Hi and good day my name is Lisa Gayle I check in on Thursday 16 April around 2pm my first bad experience was at the front desk when I spoke to the young lady to check in and give her our passport she told me I did not pay for my stay at the hotel and how would I like to pay if by Cash or card now I book the vacation with jet blue vacation and paid every thing upfront after felling her I paid everything I show her my confirmation with flight and hotel she said to me that I have to go on the 3 rd floor to check in because I am premium now that what she should say to me at the beginning of the checking process. I was very offended when she said I did not pay for the hotel stay. Once I go to the 3rd floor and checked in I want to room 5400 and that was another bad experience my 2 television in the room was not working the AC also was not working I went to take a shower the bathroom roof on the standing shower was falling the tub my husband went in and his back was all with white paint the paint in the tub was peeling. I then the next day went to the office again and spoke to Anna and she change my room to 3400 now this room was ok every working. The buffet was horrible the service was not good at all I sat at a table for my food finish eating and no one came to us for any drink I ask for a hot tea and was told there is no hot water. Now let me talk about the positive after complaining to a bell boy by the name of FAUTO MEDINA he help me with everything from Taking me to the 3rd foor to make my complaint about the room he also helped me and my husband pack up all our belongings and taking it to the new room he also double check to make sure we was not leaving anything behind,it was his time to leave work but he stayed back to help us move to the new room. The next day I told him about the tea situation in the buffet and I explain to him I wanted a hot tea because my stomach was not feeling good he went all out to get me something for my stomach he ask a young lady at the bar to make me something with lemon and salt with soda water after I drank it a few minutes I starting feeling good I have to thank her very much for helping me FAUTO is an asset to your company and is a very hard worker he is a helpful and kind person always willing to help and he always has a smile I look forward every day to see him because I know if I have any problem he be willing to help.

  “A Beautiful Resort That Fell Short of Expectations”

  We recently stayed at Occidental Caribe and overall had a pleasant experience, with some areas that definitely have room for improvement. The property itself is beautiful. The buildings, pools, and beach areas are very well maintained and visually impressive. The atmosphere around the resort is lively, and the entertainment team did an excellent job—shows at the theater were engaging and enjoyable. Service from the front desk, bell staff, and housekeeping was consistently good and appreciated. Our room was comfortable overall. The air conditioning worked well, there was no humidity smell, and the bathroom (including the shower) was in very good condition. However, the sliding glass door to the balcony was extremely difficult to open—almost stuck—which could be a real issue, especially for older guests. Food was the biggest disappointment during our stay. The buffet offerings were average at best. While the food generally had good flavor, the variety and overall selection felt limited and below expectations for a resort of this level. This is an area that could be significantly improved. The à la carte dining experience also needs attention. Reservations must be made on the day of check-in, which made it difficult to secure spots. Many restaurants were already fully booked. We were able to dine at the Mexican restaurant, but unfortunately the food arrived cold, and the service timing was inconsistent—some items arrived late or out of order. Although the portions were good and the staff was friendly, the execution was lacking. Bar service was inconsistent as well. While service at the lobby bar and snack bar area was good, the pool bar service was poor and did not meet expectations. Overall, I would rate the resort a 7 to 7.5 out of 10. The property, entertainment, and general service are strong positives, but the food quality, dining system, and some service inconsistencies significantly impact the overall experience. With improvements in these areas, this resort has the potential to offer a much better experience.

  Good

  It can still get better, You have everyting you need to improve. One thing I didn't like was that I returned the room at 12h PM, spent 4 hours in the hotel without the apartment and had to travel without showering. I asked the manager, and he said there no rooms available for a complimentary stay.
