  Great resort for young families!!

  Nice location with well maintained beach - no seaweeds. Good for walking. Great resorts for young families with kids under 7 years old. Lifeguards at the pool and at the beach. Security also everywhere. Had a room with ocean view with day bed! Can’t complain. Site is a little old, furniture needs attention, just like closet doors, drawers and plumbing. But it won’t affect your stay overall. Clean site with attentioned staff - a warm thanks to Elisa at the Explorer’s buffet, to the staff at front desk and to our butler Jonathan. Great atmosphere in the evening in the « village » with music and bar. Cool ice cream store with sweets available all day and evening. It’s a noisy environment but more with babies and toddlers wining and kids screaming but it all depends on the families. Very little loud adults that drink too much. Your choice!

  Great Fun in the Sun with SpongeBob, Dora & Friends!

  The Nickelodeon resort is a fun, family-friendly resort, chock full of entertaining and engaging activities for young and older kids together with characters from the world of Nickelodeon/Paramount including Paw Patrol, Dora the Explorer, SpongeBob Squarepants and others. The resort is located about 40 minutes from the Punta Cana airport along and sprawls across a large, well-manicured estate bookended by a lovely, palm-lined sandy beach on one end and the Nick Place WaterPark on the other. Between the beach and the waterpark are accessible, barrier-free residences, including swim-up rooms and suites, a large infinity pool overlooking the bar, and the main "village" that features the restaurants, cafe, buffet, shops, theatre and central park that features outdoor dining and live music on select evenings. A large golf-cart shuttles people to and fro between the beach, the water park, and other parts of the resort. The beach was sandy and clean, with minimal seaweed, which was raked away early every morning. There was security at the beach around the clock, and they made sure that all the local vendors followed the rules. There was also a lifeguard on duty at the beach during the day. We stayed in a nest room which was clean and spacious enough for four people, had a large balcony, and included a mini-fridge and safe (that didn't work). The resort is not huge and was not at capacity, and, because it is so spread out, we never felt that it was crowded. There was never a lineup at the buffet, bars, or the shows. Reservations are only required at the space-themed restaurant, and are easy to get the same day in the morning. The staff is very friendly and attentive, and when we raised an issue with house-keeping they addressed it in a timely fashion. The Kids' club and playplace are very spacious, inclusive and well-staffed. Our kids spent hours building crafts, playing games, and frolicking in the ball pit, taking breaks for the frequent meet and greet photo ops with the various Nick characters throughout the day. The food is quite tasty and varied, there were a lot of Dominican dishes that tasted like they were home-made. There was also a variety of international cuisines, we particularly liked the Italian restaurant with its selection of meats, pastas and risottos. There was always a large selection of meat, fish and seafood dishes and the charcuterie spread was replete with excellent soft and hard cheeses, cold cuts, and ferments. One thing to note is that, since the hotel caters to children and families, the facilities and activities close and finish fairly early, so this resort is not geared for late-night partiers. The hotel offers many upsell experiences, which at times felt like a nuisance for an-all-inclusive. They offer promo discounts for attending a 90-minute presentation of their traveller's privilege club, please be aware that this is a high-pressure sales presentation that can drag out much longer, which was aggravating. Overall our whole family had lots of fun spending a week at Nickelodeon Punta Cana and would definitely recommend it to families who love the Nick Universe and their characters.
