My friends and I planned a vacation a year in advance to Melia resort in Punta Cana in Dominican republic the resort was beautiful the buffet style food was okay not the best and for 3 days I complained about our toilet not working and backed up no one came to fix it I complained about my air conditioning not working for 3 days also it was so hot and humid they never came to fix that either still wasn't working when we left and to top it off we were out on a excursion and someone stole my box I had put away with my money and jewlery I confronted the lady and told her I was going to security I filled out a report what she stole the security came down looked in my room here in the meantime she put my stuff back but not all my money i was still missing $125 out of $300 and of course she never gave my money back i will never stay there again very bad experience for me and my friends but the resort was beautiful!

About 50% of the staff are nice the other half act like they don’t want to be there. Half of the resort smells like sewage. Also we had problems with our room from day one we have been here now for two days and still no one has addressed the issues we have reported three times, shower door broke, electrical outlet not working, room phone not working, TV channels work sometimes and the air-conditioning does not get cold only cool. I definitely would not recommend this resort. They need to go through and correct the issues and do some updates.
