Apr 22, 2026Honolulu 10-Day Vacation: Prepare in Advance.
We loved the City and beaches - very clean and full of touristy options. Our accommodation and tour staff were superb as were 99% of those people we met. The quality of cleanliness and furniture upgrades could improve where we stayed. The tour agency Daniels received our input to improve based on meals on tours and added stops. The Luao fees were way overpriced and we cancelled them when the Canadian equivalent for a meal with entertainment reached almost $500.00 . We saved a lot shopping for expensive groceries used to prepare about 10 meals duing our 10 day stay. The transit system was surprising in temrs of the very low cost to get around. We wish we were informed sooner upon our arrival and in advance of our arrival. A $50 USD taxi cost upon arrival was noticeable when compared to our $1.00 pp bus cost on Line W to get back to the Honolulu Airport. All in all, we had a great, safe and enjoyable vacation and can cross Hawaii off our list as we search for new and different destinations. We highly recommend going to Hawaii, but in doing so, do your homework to propare in advance.

Apr 22, 2026Not the Luana Waikiki I remember....
We’ve been coming to the Luana Waikiki for over a decade, but unfortunately, this recent stay did not meet our expectations. We stayed for 9 nights (10 days), and during that time, our room was serviced only twice—and only after we had to request service from the front desk twice. This was a significant departure from the level of service we’ve experienced in the past. On our checkout day, our flight was scheduled for later in the day, so we stored our luggage with the hotel and spent a few hours at the beach. When we returned, we collected our bags and headed to the airport. However, upon check-in, we discovered that one of our suitcases was missing. We contacted the hotel immediately, and initially, staff were unable to locate the missing bag. After asking them to double-check, they eventually found it. We then had to arrange transportation back to the hotel and again to the airport, which was a major inconvenience and added unnecessary stress to our departure. If it hadn’t been for our delayed flight, we likely would have missed it altogether. While I acknowledge that I could have double-checked the number of bags before leaving, this is not our first time storing luggage with the hotel, and we relied on their process. Given this experience, we are now reconsidering whether we will return next year and are exploring other accommodation options.

Apr 22, 2026A very good value for accommodations in and around Waikiki/Honolulu!
The hotel is not fancy by Waikiki standards. The decor in the lobby provided the right atmosphere for a visit to Honolulu. The value was excellent for providing a safe comfortable and optimum location to explore Waikiki and Honolulu. The rooms were cleaned and well stocked. Cleaning services were top notch. The amenities though limited were good for example, pool area, work out room, laundry facilities, etc. I will say that the noise levels could have been troublesome due to the proximity of a primary road below, construction next door, etc. However, the patio doors are very substantial and high quality. The room walls and other doors all provided very good noise isolation.
