Apr 22, 2026Got very sick at Paraíso Lindo Iberostar
Stayed here with my family for summer of 2025 and my wife and I got really sick. We are not certain if it was the food or the water (or both) but upon our arrival home, we were sick for several weeks as they were unable to determine what we had. It was finally determined we had parasites and had to take very strong antibiotics to get better. The resort is nice but not sure how much hygiene or care is given to the food or water. Family friend of ours stayed here a few months after us and same thing happened to them. Would not stay here again ever !

Excellent trip for the ladies! We tried to do everything but it was impossible. The pools are addictive. The spa is absolutely incredible. The food was fantastic. We played pickle ball, shot the rifles and did archery, and learned some salsa on stage with the lights! We went clubbing, tried new cocktails and mocktails, and met other friendly vacationers from all over. Special shout out to Yessica and Chef Viviana. They made a special recipe mole for my family and we demolished it. It was so good. Chef Viviana does not disappoint and Yessica made sure each diner was satisfied. Also shout out to Rodrigo in El Rancho and Paulina from the Star Prestige team. We will be back. We love it there.

In the past, between 2009 and 2017 we visited different Iberostar resorts in Mexico on both costs probably 7 times and missed welcoming atmosphere, gardens and beach here. Our family of 5 had 2 rooms in building 51; 1 room ground floor, 2nd room on 2nd floor. Perfect location for us, close to beach and pools. We missed elevators when taking care of our 16 month old granddaughter. Our room was large, with comfortable bed, large dresser, large closet. Housekeeping was excellent. We also had nice robes but no slippers. We were told they are no longer available. Bathroom had large walk in shower, soap, conditioner and shampoo all liquid and in dispenser. Buffet was great, variety of food, so we never had issue not getting what we liked. We also eat early but noticed that it would get very crowded later on. We eat at a-la-carte at night and we liked Under the Sea, Lemon and Spices and was able to eat at La Marina - service and food was great. Beach at Iberostar is beautiful, and inviting for long walks. It did have some sargassum but resort was cleaning it everyday. Did not eat at beach, it did not appeal to me, it was more of grilled, fast food. Beach bathroom could be nicer and cleaner. If we would come back as a family, we would probably book rooms at Maya because of the elevators and access to everything (like buffets, restaurants, bar etc). Don't feel comfortable being told we can't (Maya has great playroom for little kids and we used it). I would like to also mention that Dafne Ortiz (reception) was wonderful and made our 9 night vacation really good, she is very helpful, always smiling and very guests oriented. Thank you again Dafne. Also, thank you Oriole from PR for your input in our experience.

Overall, a great trip.
The resort is huge and well kept and not too far from the airport. We travelled during Spring Break so payed a bit more than we would have liked. The staff in all departments were courteous, friendly, and always working so hard. The servers were literally running off their feet. The bartenders we met had a generous pour!! The rooms are spacious and housekeeping kept things tidy. Walls were a bit thin and we could hear the neighbours snoring! Everyone easily found something to eat although at times the food could have been warmer. And for me, it would have been nice to see serving utensils changed out when the food trays were. The nightlife was a bit quiet for the twenty somethings in our group even when they went to the nightclub. The entertainment team were fun and had some great activities. We saw many animals flamingos, coatis, racoons, agoutis, monkeys, and a couple iguanas. A few more lounge chairs may help to accommodate the need but we saw chairs with towels that were not used for hours. Overall, we had a great trip.

Nightmare to book the wedding!!! Beautiful location nice people but the wedding process has been horrible…too many people who don’t know what the other is saying, difficult to get a hold of…have the wedding elsewhere! Reserving the Room block was the worst part
