Loved the room, beds are super comfortable. We didn’t get the birthday cake or crib we preset up we had to remind. Pool closes at 7 which was a huge disappointment doesn’t open back up until 9am. Beach was okay. Overall good experience just a little pricey for what they offered. No foam pool party or fun vibe like others we’ve been to

I suffered an injury on property due to a safety hazard and required medical treatment. Despite being told my case was escalated to insurance, I have received no contact after multiple follow-ups over 10+ days. Extremely disappointed in the lack of response.

Apr 20, 2026Safety could be at jeopardy - test fire alarms in your room
My family and I all planned a group vacation to travel with the kids all together. My sister in law found the hard rock hotel in Riviera Maya and we just followed on her lead and all booked there because it seemed very kid friendly. It was our first time taking our kids out of Canada and we were so nervous. The first thing I wanna say is that it felt so very safe there. I didn't fear for my kids safety nor did I feel the need to have them within arm's reach of me at all the times. The workers were so friendly and helpful. The resort is huge and it takes a bit to know your way around but once you do and learn the short cuts it's a breeze. When we got to our room it was wet inside, there was dew on the floors, walls and furniture. And the smell was strong from the dampness. I went to the front desk and explained my situation and she was very kind and helpful, sent room service up to clean and we agreed to try it for the night to see how it would be. We woke up the next day and all of us was stuffy noses and damp, then my toddler slipped on the floor. So I went to lobby and spoke to them and they gave me another room but I had to agree to be away from my group. So we went all the way to the other end of the resort in building 9. The room was on the third floor, the move was with the help of the workers and it went smooth. The new room was still musty but wasn't wet. So we accepted and unpacked for the 2nd time. Back to enjoying our trip.. the kids loved everything about the resort. The slides, the many pools, the beach, the rope crossing the water, kayaking, snorkeling (we seen so many fish it was so cool), the trampoline park, lazer tag, escape room, all the snacks and fancy drinks, the special shows, the music and just everyone being together- thank you for those experiences and memories to last a lifetime. However we ran into a traumatic event that happened while there and it has left us with immense fear. Our safety was extremely compromised from a mal function in our building 9 with the fire alarms not going off while there was a live fire doors down from us. Our children were traumatized by the experience and to be honest I was too. The staff apologized and and admitted that there was a mal function and it was being investigated but I haven't heard any updates of that. We were given a complimentary trip back for the same worth as ours, which seemed like a nice offer at first but after looking into prices for airfare alone, my family won't even be able to take the trip and would have been better off getting a refund so we could at least enjoy a different trip. The all inclusive resorts are cheaper booking all together then seperate. So in the end we unpacked our stuff three times, moved twice, had to run down three flights of stairs with our kids screaming at 2am, and won't even be able to use the compensation offered to us. Its disappointing and discouraging, on the bright side we are all safe, and made some great memories.

Fun and relaxing!!
The Hard Rock is always a fun time with many activities and amenities. The staff were all exceptional in their kindness and service. The Awaken your Senses Dinner was very well done and a very unique dinner experience. Our butler's Diego and Naef were very attentive and made sure we thought of everything our membership could offer. Exceptional service and care to our needs and very friendly and kind!

A maximum of two pets are allowed per room. The hotel is not responsible for providing food for pets due to each pet's particular diet/eating habits. The pet friendly program allows for each pet to be a maximum weight of 48.5lbs and a height of 15.7in. The program requires a fee of 150USD plus tax per pet, per stay. The hotel will not provide kennels or crates.
