  Simply Amazing experience!

  I just returned from a week long trip the Grand Palladium Kantenah Resort & Spa. It was our first time at the resort and our first time in Riviera Maya. I went with my husband and adult daughter to attend my nephew's wedding. The resort is so huge so I will give highlights of each category that I had experience with. Insider Tip: You do not need to know how to speak Spanish at the resort but it if you try to speak a few words or sentences in Spanish all of the staff seem to appreciate the effort. I know a few basic words and phrases in Spanish and learned quite a few more during my stay. 1. The Palladium Travel Club (PTC) Our family had PTC status through our booking agent which gave us access to the entire resort. This was probably the most important part of our great experience. I highly recommend the PTC or upgrading to Kantenah Family Select if you don't have PTC privileges. We were able to check in at the travel club (PTC), and after a long day of travel it was a truly impressive experience. We were greeted by Saul, who assisted us with check-in and endured my limited knowledge of Spanish with a great big smile. Saul's level of service was outstanding and my family and I are very grateful to have met him! Once we were checked in, Saul gave us a map and explained the locations of all of the restaurants, pools, bars & beaches as well as the hours of each. He then recommended making dinner reservations at the Ala Carte restaurants for the entire week. This is very important if you don't want to eat at the buffets for dinner every night. I could continue forever about how much Saul helped us, but I will leave it at that. Thank you Saul! 2. The rooms We had two garden view suites in Kantenah. These are the lowest priced suites, and the were spacious, clean, had plenty of closet space, and were beautifully decorated. A lot of people complain about musty odors in the rooms and ours did have a slight amount of that, but keep in mind this is a very humid environment so a little mustiness is hard to avoid. 3. The Kantenah Lobby Bar Our favorite place! We met Miguel and Isabel on the first night of our stay. They were seriously wonderful people in every way! As a former bartender myself (40 years ago), I mean it when I say they were perfect. They were very friendly, knowledgeable, and always happy to help me learn how to improve my minimal ability to speak Spanish. I almost always drink wine or beer but my friends were ordering much more complicated drinks and both Miguel and Isabel made the drinks to perfection! Many evenings they also had Hilberto, a young apprentice with them. It was a joy and a delight to speak with him as well. It would be almost impossible to be in a bad mood in the presence of the three of them. Many thanks to Miguel, Isabel and Hilberto for helping to make our stay Outstanding; we all miss you! In the mornings the lobby bar has espresso, cappuccino, lattes, etc. Isaiah greeted us with a big smile every morning and remembered our coffee order after the first day. Thank you so much Isaiah! 4. The Kantenah Family Selection Pool Some of our friends and family had small children so we spent most mornings at the the Kantenah Family Selection Pool. What a wonderful place to entertain the children and adults alike! The pool has multiple areas that are less than 2 feet in depth which is perfect when traveling with toddlers. Also the restaurant and bar at this pool (Es Niu) is fantastic! The restaurant is open only for lunch but the bar serves all types of drinks all day. We were extremely well taken care of especially by Lizbeth and also Maria. They were always there to take our food and drink orders and the children loved them as much as we did! 5. The TRS Infinity Pool Our favorite pool overall. Adult only! Sometimes it's nice to get away from the kids for a few hours. Multiple infinity levels, lots of comfortable lounge chairs, great service from the waitresses and the bar staff. The restaurant (Helios) next door to the pool is phenomenal for breakfast and lunch! 6. The Ala carte Restaurants La Boheme, Helios and Chic Cabaret are adult only. The Nest, Es Niu, Portofino, Bamboo, Bahia e Brasa allow children. Never had a bad meal at any of them! Excellent friendly service. Many of them have a "salad Bar" which is more like a buffet in addition to the ability to order from the menu. These are the only restaurants we had time to try. The Beach Wedding Dedicated Wedding Carritas take the the wedding party and guests to the beach and back. The setting was beautiful and our hosts hired 2 bartenders for the reception who were wonderful and catered to our every need. An Unforgettable experience.

  Sumptori Grand Palladium Kantenah

  We had ala carte at Sumptori on our last night, probably the best meal of the stay ! Sushi, starters and mains were fantastic. We had the teriyaki chicken and fillet beef both excellent. Sushi was so good. Service excellent and super attentive from.ourbserver Jesus and we got to see and HEAR the specialty cooking shows which looked slot of fun, tho we were glad just to watch :)
