    Rated Top 10 in Mexico

This property is amazing. Connected by a lengthy beachfront path which connects Generations- family friendly resort, El Dorado Casitas-Adult Only and then El Dorado Royale-Adults Only at the end. Beautifully landscaped with plenty of paths to walk around the property. Lots of pools, tons of places on the beach to enjoy the sun, sand and surf. The rooms are a little dated but clean and large and have everything you need. The swimup suites are amazing and there are plenty to choose from. You have the option to use all the restaurants on all 3 properties and there is no lack of places to eat. You might need reservations at some of the places - Italian as it is a smaller spot and Wine Kitchen as it is in Generations. Staff are all amazing and go out of their way to say hello to everyone. Remember to TIP. They work hard. Food everywhere is awesome - room service can do with some updating - but very good as well and never a long wait. Property is setback very far from the main highway - so not many beach pedlars - I saw a few - and I hope the Management will keep them off the property. Night shows change regularly and there is 1 place for dancing. Spa is pricy - but amazing as well. Enough daytime activities as well. All around - an amazing property for quiet relaxing holiday - this is not Hard Rock or Planet Hollywood.

Return Visit - Continues to be a Fantastic Resort!

My wife and I returned to the Eldorado Royale in March of 2026, after visiting in for a week Feb/March in 2025. We have been travelling to all-inclusive resorts and for over 20 years and this was the first time we have returned to a resort for a second visit. Why did we return? Because we had such a fantastic holiday in 2025 and we loved the lay-out, pools, fantastic staff, and food options and quality. We had no hiccups with our room assignment and were very centrally located (building 6) by the main activity pool - La Isla. Last year we were in Building 5 and we loved the location, being so central and we walked everywhere. Highlights for us were the variety of pools with the Spot pool being our favourite, but we also enjoy the Fluentes pool and spend at day at La Isla. The food was fantastic yet again. We love that there are so many breakfast options and that you don't have to just go to the buffet (it is great though). Our favourite for breakfast this year was Rincon - great Mexican options and other breakfast staples. For lunch we loved going to Kick down at the beach and sitting outside in the sand overlooking the beach and ocean. The menu is not large, but the food is excellent. As well, we also enjoyed La Cabana Pizzeria at the La Isla pool. Fantastic pizza, burgers, salads and wings overlooking the pool. For dinners all the restaurants were excellent. Our favourite were D'Italia Villa (Mediterranean) and Kampai (Oriental) at the Eldorado resorts and Habb and the Wine Kitchen at Generations (which you can book). The food was excellent and of very high quality for an all inclusive. We also made sure to keep our Thursday night open as this was Mexican Night back in the Grand Ballroom. Fantastic traditional Mexican dishes, soups and desserts as well as entertainment - Mariachi band and singers and dancer. More inclusive options provided - Maroma Beach excursions, snorkeling trip, bike rides, visit to horses, are all included with your stay. Staff - again exceptional staff - our room was kept very clean and tidy and our fridge well stock (leave notes for what you want and a tip helps too). Shout out to some exceptional staff - Sami (waiter at Rincon and Spot restaurant) great service and personality. Oscar at the Italian was great. Vlad again this year was exceptional at Kick. We did miss Luis the bartender we had at Spot pool last year, but did run into him at La Isla - exceptional bar staff. Changes we noticed - new bar - Swing bar on the beach was great. No longer booking restaurant on the app, but through your concierge - mixed reviews on this - took some time to meet and get this sorted, but did allow us to get into restaurants such as Habb and the Wine Kitchen which we couldn't get into last year. Some FYIs - the beach - is not great - but the pools are and you have the option of trips to Maroma Beach and beach club (everyday if you like) or head up to Generations (attached family resort) where the beach is better. If you are a beach lover - check is out before you book. Sargassum - this year was exceptionally bad for this, it is naturally occurring and the resort does it's best to minimize the impact. Complex size and distances - the three resorts (Eldorado Royale, Casitas, and Generations are very spread out along the beach. My brother-in-law & sister-in-law and siblings on their side went a week earlier and stayed in Building 51 - most southern and furthest back from the beach and they calculated that it was a 2 kilometer walk down to Generations. So it is very spread out, but the grounds are lush and mature and very tropical and the system of golf cart shuttles are very efficient and frequent to move you where you need to go. Some Suggestions for improvement - the app and communication of events throughout the entire complex, as it is big and very difficult to keep track of what is going on. Entertainment - music earlier in the evenings. Final thoughts - will we be back? Very likely. We love the Eldorado chain, so may explore some other locations as well. Great resort for adults (now a bit older) who just want to relax, enjoy the sun, the water, food and drink and good conversation with those we meet.

    Our new favorite resort!

We couldn't love this resort more. It is 3 resorts in 1 and that includes all the restaurants and a very long walking path along the ocean from El dorado royale to Generations. Food and food choices were endless and amazing. You will never be short towels or places to sit and enjoy the sun. Yes it's not for beach lovers but we were happy with all the pools and still enjoyed sitting by the beach. Our room was always clean and filled with everything we needed. Our concierge, Jazz was amazing and made all our dinner reservations at the times we wanted. She was always cheerful and now a dear friend that we can't wait to see again soon. We truly loved this resort and is now our favorite!

    Beautiful Hotel with Beautiful Staff!

We’d seen a few negative reviews for this Hotel after we had booked it which made me nervous. I needn’t have worried as we had a fabulous time here and would definitely return. It’s a lovely hotel in beautiful (mosquito free) gardens and woodland. The food is superb and the staff overall are fantastic. A great stay and we’d definitely return, A few negatives to get out of the way but nothing major. 99% of our interactions with the staff were brilliant- The Area that is lacking in being customer focussed is Reception where the service was so/so - not terrible but not great. For a first and last impression they need to raise their game. Also the Mexican restaurant was ok but for a showcase of that Country’s food it should have been stellar. A part from this everything else was top notch. Branded spirits, great food, for an all inclusive it really was good. We only ate in the buffet restaurant twice - which was also very good. Our favourite restaurants were Daab the Indian and then Kam pai and Jade. We also had a nice evening in Fuentes. Our favourite restaurant for breakfast and lunch was La Isla where the staff were amazing, so kind and friendly we loved them all. They were all amazing but we’d like to recognise Wilbert, Andreas and Enrique. Also our Concieges Reina and Claudia both lovely ladies who were super helpful. I am so glad that we stayed at this authentic, beautifully located hotel rather than a Riu or similar that could have been anywhere. We’ll definitely return. Thanks guys for all your hard work and giving us such a lovely vacation.

    Great meals, service and dancing!

Although we stay at the family resort next door, Generations, because we love the views and the rooms there, we walk to El Dorado Royale (and Casitas) every day for our morning exercise, for meals often and dancing at night. One of our favorite restaurants is the culinary theater, Fuentes. Since I am a home chef and thoroughly enjoy drinking wine with dinner, watching the chefs cook and learning about the wine pairing is always a highlight for me. We love Edgar, the head sommelier. The resort is so fortunate to have him as he is one of only five sommeliers in all of Mexico to have reached the level of being an “Advanced Sommelier.” We always learn something new from him. We had the privilege of watching Chef Paco one night as the guest chef; he is so talented. MaJo is an excellent MC and Pablo is such a talented musician. Mizael does a great job as both captain and host. Wonderful service is provided by Noriberto, Jesus, Anastasio and Guillermo. We often stopped at Cocotal for breakfast. As crowded and hectic as it often was, the captains and hostesses always remained calm. We appreciated their service: Angel, Lu, Ale, Yulia, and Tania Rubi. Our favorite servers were Kingston, Celestino, Mavili, Mariano, and Samy. Martha, who made the smoothies, was so good always finding fresh berries for me! We liked seeing Mauricio at La Isla and Marco at the Mediterranean restaurant. Outstanding chefs for us this time were Chef Paco, Chef Montree (Kampai) and Chef Pedro (Santa Fe). Alma is an outstanding captain at Santa Fe and Victor is a superb server. We also had a great server at Kampai-Raul and at the Mediterranean restaurant-Jossue. Our favorite music bands for dancing are Cygnus and Happy Band. We just wish they could always play at the early time of 8:30 or 9:00 instead of at 10:00 some nights. Aracely and Joseline always provided us with the much-needed waters we needed while dancing. Although we will continue to stay next door at GRM, we look forward to our future walks, meals and dancing at EDR and Casitas.
