Magic of a Second Home by Lana Clews
The white sands of Cancun felt a little more special this year. This was my 7th time returning to Dreams Sands Cancun Resort & Spa but this visit was different. I was there with my daughter who flew from California and my niece, who had traveled all the way from Ukraine. I wanted them to feel the "Welcome Home" magic I always talk about, and the "Dream Team" did not disappoint. It started at the entrance with Abraham, whose tireless work with our luggage always comes with the warmest smile. Once inside the Preferred Club, it felt like a family reunion. Verónica Romero and Sandy Madera greeted us with such grace, making us feel like royalty from the first second. Ricardo Palma and Fernando Juarez oversaw everything with such care; they are the heart of the operation, ensuring every need was met before we even had to ask. We spent our days on the most perfect beach in Mexico. Carlos Gomez is a hero-he works beyond words to make sure everything is great. Gustavo, who always has our towels ready and waiting. Then there is the "Golden Four” of service: Misael, Gerson, Sergio Agustín, and Isaak. Even in the heat, they move with a smile, bringing us ice-cold water and the perfect cocktails. When we needed a break from the sun, Miguel at the spa booked the most beautiful, relaxing massages for us. In the evenings, Miguel Angel and Vanessa at the Preferred Bar crafted drinks that felt like art, while Fernando Cedeno worked his magic to make sure our drinks are always spectacular. The highlight was the Mexican Night. Alberto Oramas outdid himself, creating an event so vibrant and full of life that it turned into an unforgettable birthday celebration for me. Watching my niece and daughter laugh under the Cancun stars, I realized why I keep coming back. It's the beach, yes, but it's really the people. To Jorge Garcia who is the sweetest and most caring person who works very hard and to Lidia who has a golden heart, I want to say thank you and the entire team: thank you for making our girls' trip the best. You don't just run a hotel; you take care of hearts. While the Caribbean sun is beautiful, it is the "Golden Four” that truly makes the beach come alive. Misael, Gerson, Sergio Agustin, and Isaak are more than just servers; they are the guardians of our comfort. Sergio sets the tone with his legendary attentiveness. He has an amazing gift for anticipating what you need before you even have to ask, always greeting us with a genuine warmth that makes us feel like the most important people on the sand. Working in perfect harmony with him are Misael and Gerson These two are the definition of "hardworking." Even during the hottest parts of the day, you see them moving swiftly across the sand with a smile that never fades. Misael is a soul of pure kindness, making sure every cocktail is perfect and every guest feels cared for. Gerson is the engine of the team, an "MVP" who manages the busiest crowds with total grace. Isaak is always happy to serve with a big smile and a warm heart.

Loved!
Beautiful beach, clean hotel, friendly staff, and delicious food. We went for our baby moon and it was an unforgettable experience. The hotel had a photo shoot service and we were very pleased with our photographer, Omar. We had a relaxing stay!

Would not recommend. The food is not edible. The drinks are okay. The room is very rundown and smells awful. The shower is water has a sewer smell. The photos online are not very accurate. Left our honeymoon 4 days early and went home.

Nice resort, awesome staff. Shout out to Hector, Gerson, and Gustavo, they made the trip. Nice ocean area if you like floating in the ocean. Preferred pool lacks some view of ocean due to chairs/cabanas. Is also kid friendly, so plan on getting splashed.
