  Travel Agent Perspective

  We recently visited your resort to celebrate a graduation and anniversary. Our group dynamic was a bit unique, as I am a travel agent accompanying clients who joined this trip specifically to experience your resort for the first time, with the intention of recommending it in the future if the experience met expectations. I would like to share some detailed feedback from our stay. First, there were several positives. The accommodations were overall very nice; however, we did experience an issue with mosquitoes in our room, which may have been related to a noticeable gap around the front door where light could be seen coming through. Addressing this could significantly improve guest comfort. The food was generally okay, though we did find the buffet lacked some familiar American options. Offering a wider variety—such as burgers—would greatly enhance the experience for guests seeking more recognizable choices. Most of the specialty restaurants were very enjoyable, with the exception of Portofino. Unfortunately, both the food quality and the language barrier there detracted from the experience more than at any other venue. While this was not my first all-inclusive stay, it was the first for several of my clients. I was surprised by the limited availability of English-speaking staff in certain areas, which left a negative impression on them. Improving communication accessibility would go a long way in enhancing guest satisfaction. As Preferred Club guests, we also expected to be informed of all included amenities. It was not until our final day that I became aware of items such as robes and house shoes, which would have been nice to enjoy from the beginning of our stay. On a positive note, the housekeeping team was outstanding—truly one of the highlights of our visit. However, one staff member in the buffet area, Margarita, could benefit from improving her customer service approach. For instance, it took approximately 18 minutes for our group to receive Diet Cokes after ordering, and interactions at the omelet station could be more accommodating (for example, not dismissing requests for additional ingredients). Lastly, I would like to recognize an exceptional team member—Elias. From the first night we met him, he consistently went above and beyond, ensuring we had everything we needed at each restaurant. His level of service was truly remarkable. I strongly believe he would excel in a more advanced role and deserves recognition, including consideration for a promotion and/or raise. Overall, I would rate our experience a 3.5 out of 5. While there are several areas for improvement, there are also strong positive elements that could make this a highly recommendable destination with some adjustments.

  Had such a bad experience in this hotel. I’ve traveled to so many different hotels throughout Dominican Republic and this one by far has been the worse. I experienced frogs throughout my stay and had to call to have them Removed. Since day one of my Arrival til the last day of my trip. The tv never worked and after reporting it they never fixed it either : food was not the best either . The critters and frogs in the room Made this hotel Stay such a bad experience I won’t be going back there

  What Dreams Are Made Of

  Dreams Dominicus La Romana is a 5 star resort. Everything about this resort was amazing but the biggest highlight is the personal concierge assigned to us. She helped make this trip even better than expected. The food, location, and entertainment is amazing at this resort.

  Would not recommend

  We reserved 10 preferred swim-out rooms over a year in advance. When checking in, we were informed that 1 of the swim-out rooms was not available so we were forced into a different room without any refund. Secondly, we were told my elderly, handicap parents would be a priority when requesting a ride to restaurants and pool. On numerous occasions we waited over an hour, in pouring rain, for their ride. While waiting for their ride, we witnessed the golf cart driver picking up able-body people which was extremely frustrating and irritating. Our “Anniversary Package” was a complete cluster! Even after providing the required documentation, we only received 1 of the items listed in the package. At this point, I was so tired of complaining about the ride situation and I didn’t feel like I should have to make several attempts to get the rest of the package we were promised. Their administrative staff are extremely unorganized and beyond frustrating. I will not return to this resort, and would not recommend. On a good note, Our butler Daniel David was amazing and did his best to make things happen, but some things were out of his control. Life guard Francisco was very helpful and went beyond our expectations getting my elderly parents into the ocean, and making sure they had a great time on the beach.

  Family of 6 Graduation Celebration

  We were a group of 6, age ranging from 10 years old to 68! Some Pros: - The beach is fantastic! This is a #1 beach for families, in my option... for safety, cleanliness, and service of the beach bar staff. The water is so blue, and incredibly calm (most days). The free beach activities were great (paddleboards, canoes, etc.). -Saona Island Excursion was amazing, but the beach at the resort was better. I still recommend that you go to the island for the experience, but, temper expectations. - Rooms were very clean and mostly modern with upgraded amenities. -Entertainment was really good. The fire dancers were a favorite with our group. -The highlight of our trip was our Bali bed experience with the fantastic bartender at the beach bar. His name was Ray. Elias was also very helpful with information and was a pleasure to meet! Cons: If you are looking for good food, this is not the resort for you! The food was NOT good at almost any of the restaurants that we tried, and we are well-traveled to know how various cultures prepare food, and this food was not prepared well at all. The staff need training on proper food temperature, temperature regulation and seasoning options. The beverage selection is very poor for a Dreams resort. The drinkware and service are not at all up to par with sister resorts. Being a family resort, I recommend that there is consideration for keeping the pool open past 6 pm. The bartenders need NEW frozen drink machines. The entertainment team need new paddleboards, as the ones we used caused cuts on our knees and feet. The resort also needs new beach towels and new bath towels. The hot tub in the honeymoon suite is in desperate need of upgrade, as it was rusted and small. The pool table needs to be refurbished with new table felt. The pool balls need to be replaced, as they are cracked and dented. The cue ball was pitted and didn't work properly. The restaurant chairs need to be repaired and/or replaced. If we were to return to DR, we would look for a resort with better food options.
