  Great Beach

  Well first off the beach is amazing no seaweed, the water is beautiful the pictures do not do it justice. The chairs are plentiful, I always get up early to get a palapa and I always got the one I wanted ( I went earlier than I needed to). The beach had access for people in wheelchair, the the sand is soft and white. The room was small there was 3 of us but we made it work. The cleaning staff did an amazing job, coming back at night to pick up dirty towels. One evening we did not get our safe shut and the sweet lady waited for us to come back to the room and had us check the safe. Everything was there, thank God. We always tip but she got a good one that night. So it is a safe resort, and just to let you know we are older ladies so I was worried about how walkable the resort would be. It was very easy to get from our room to the beach and restaurants. If you have walking problems ask for a room close to the pool and restaurants. The only thing at the end Is the check in. Now for the down side, most workers do not understand English, the restaurant staff was not helpful and the food although not bad was also not a lot to choose from. Compared to other all-inclusive we have stayed at. We did meet one guy,he is an assistant manager just starting there, Julio. He was amazing! We talk to him and told him a lot of the things we were feeling and he said he would pass it on. Because truly if they could get the weight staff a little nicer it would be great. That being said, the cleaning staff was great, the people at the bar were wonderful, Funny. So I don't know that I would actually go back to this resort, but I would definitely go back to this beach. It's one of the best I've ever been to including Aruba, Cancun, Jamaica. It was great!!

  Perfect Experience

  The staff at Catalonia Bayahibe are THE BEST!!! Mauricio is a fantastic concierge. The Butlers: Gary, Kelvin, Freddy and Wilson are more than butlers, they are familia Dominicana. Lissett makes the most amazing piña coladas at the Terrace Bar. Staff at all the restaurants are amazingly welcoming.

  The best beach but hotel just okay

  (+) The biggest advantage of this place is the beach. One of the best beaches in terms of water quality, colour, sand, lack of waves, length and width and absence of sargassum. We really enjoyed swimming in the sea ! Rooms were spacious, refurbished, good quality mattress, nice layout of the premises and pleasant vibes due to the gardens and the architecture. (-) We found the facilities underwhelming for the privileged price we paid. We paid for the privileged pack but it's really a waste of money as others have said. No point in getting it, the food on the privileged restaurant was mediocre and there are no other real privileges on the package. We tried booking in the other restaurants as soon as we checked in and only one of them had availability which was very disappointing. In any case we ate best of all in the general buffet. Only one bar available for the evening. I would come back to Bayahibe as the sea and beach were amazing but not to this hotel.

  Very Poor and uncaring customer service

  Avoid if you can - sadly we couldn’t. This was the most unpleasant customer service experience of my life. My family - 83 year old father with dementia and my 58 year old sister and I were put in this hotel overnight by TUI because of an aircraft issue. Victor the reception manager could not have been more unpleasant or unhelpful. He insisted he had no rooms apart from a ‘family room’ which consisted of two small double beds 6 inches apart and a shower enclosure with a clear glass door. He bought my very robust sister to tears. He deliberately kept just waiting so long that eventually I had no choice but to accept this room which then really upset my poor father. My sister and I had to sleep on the beach as it was not appropriate or possible to share with my father. We spoke with guest services during the daytime about the accommodation and about Victor’s attitude but they didn’t care either. Angelica seemed to regard two ladies in their late 50s having to spend the night sleeping on the beach as an ‘inconvenience’. I have since discovered other passengers were placed in singles/doubles which reveals that Victor was being untruthful and deliberately unhelpful.

  Awesome holiday

  Absolutely amazing place to vacation. Great food and drinks with professional staff. Beautiful and modern hotel with nice architecture. Huge beach with clear water.
