  Nice clean resort,

  Location for us was great, approximately 20 minutes from airport. To us it was a nice clean resort. Definitely need more staff, especially at the buffets. We paid for privilege so we had a renovated room. We didn’t receive all the perks that were mentioned when we paid for the upgrade. There was no separate check in area for privilege, no beach towels in room on arrival, no daily turn down service and no gift in room on arrival. Pool was clean and big, with separate area for small kids. Poolside pizza was delicious. Could always find food to eat at the buffets for this picky eater. Omelettes and fried eggs were made fresh while you wait. Steakville and Ayemi (Japanese) were both delicious. Resort definitely needs more staff for buffets. They had no one seating guests, so it was a free for all trying to find a clean table to sit at. This was the case for breakfast, lunch and supper. Drink servers in lobby were good. Our fridge in room 705 didn’t keep drinks cold. Staff replaced fridge after 2 days, new fridge wasn’t much colder. In room telephone didn’t work for 3 days. No hair dryer in room. It seemed like our room wasn’t really ready for someone to check in as there was only one bottle of water, two beer and two sodas in fridge upon arrival. Bed was comfortable, pillow not so much. Daily had to ask to leave three bath towels and two hand towels in room. If no tip, didn’t receive the hand towels. Beach was nice, staff was keeping up with removal of Sargassum daily. Overall, nice resort, would return.

  DONT STAY HERE

  1 Star — Absolute Disaster. Avoid at all costs. This resort completely ruined our vacation. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this place is poorly managed and not maintained. We were given two rooms far apart, and one had visible mold in the AC vent with a strong, unhealthy odor that caused headaches. That alone should have been a dealbreaker. After wasting over an hour dealing with staff, we were moved to a “presidential suite” — which sounds impressive until you realize it was just as broken. The air conditioning did not work (and clearly hadn’t for some time), yet they still put us in the room anyway. It was unbearably hot and never fixed. It gets worse — there was no hot water, so we were forced to take cold showers, and there was a leaking toilet. These are the most basic standards for any hotel, and they couldn’t even get that right. We have now spent DAYS of our vacation dealing with maintenance issues, waiting on repairs, and repeatedly complaining instead of relaxing. This is not a minor inconvenience — it completely destroyed the experience. The food throughout the resort has also been terrible, which only reinforces how poorly this place is run. At this point, it’s obvious this resort knowingly puts guests into rooms with serious issues and hopes they’ll just deal with it. That is unacceptable. We did involve management; however, they were unable to offer a solution that adequately addressed the situation. For any amount of hard earned money, this level of neglect is shocking. This is not luxury, not even close. Do yourself a favor — do NOT stay here. There are far better options. This place is a complete waste of money.

  Great Experiance !

  Important notice for people with disabilities and mobility issues I travel regularly, at least twice a year. Due to my specific health condition, it is logical that I always look for a destination that is accessible and adapted to my mobility needs. Finally, I can say that I have found the best destination so far for my needs. Hotel Catalonia has truly done everything to ensure that people with disabilities do not feel deprived of anything. I stayed there at the beginning of April. Before my trip, I sent an email to management asking for information about an accessible room. They responded very quickly and noted that they could not guarantee anything, but that they would do everything possible to accommodate me. Indeed, right at check-in, a very kind receptionist informed me that they had a wheelchair-accessible room for me. I received a Privilege room—very spacious, with a large bathroom that I could enter directly with my wheelchair. The entire resort is large but so well designed that everything is accessible. My room was in block 1700, very close to the lobby and all the restaurants. The resort is beautifully arranged, with lots of greenery, small lakes with fountains, and plenty of birds, fish, and turtles swimming freely. Most importantly for me: the resort has a beautiful and very well-maintained beach with a specially designated area for wheelchairs. Access to the beach is perfect, with a smooth pathway practically all the way to the shoreline. And what truly fascinated me is that the resort provided a specially designed wheelchair for entering the water for people with disabilities—fantastic! Thanks to the management, who thought about people with special needs and made it possible for them to feel comfortable. The food was truly excellent! I would especially highlight the staff and the manager Kelvin at the beach buffet restaurant for outstanding service. I must also mention the Steak House restaurant for its exceptionally juicy steak! Also worth mentioning is that within the resort there is a casino for those who enjoy it, as well as a small shopping center with many stores and a lovely little café serving the best cappuccino I have ever had. Throughout my stay, I felt very relaxed and comfortable, so I would warmly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a pleasant and unforgettable vacation.

  Five stars!

  We came here for a family vacation, and Brenda and her colleague at the Mini Club were absolutely excellent. They were kind, attentive, and wonderful with the children. Awesome memories!
