Average all inclusive
Would have been worse if I’d had to pay more. And be aware the 4.6 rating here is totally skewed as the staff have QR codes on their name badges to scan and review them So a lot of the reviews here are about one staff member or a restaurant NOT the resort. This is NOT a 4.6 property. Check in was quick by an unfriendly woman and we were not approached at all about time shares. A valet got us margaritas and took us to our room with our bags. Room was Mexico basic but clean, updated and renovated. A king and a double bed as requested and the double bed was double not single as some reviews imply. Beds were very comfortable. Room had stocked fridge, safe and toiletries . As reported in many reviews for many many months 4 of the 8 elevators were broken so there’s no urgency here in trying to repair. If the resort was full this might be very annoying. There are 4 bars - none of which make any decent drinks and not in fancy glasses like I’ve seen in some photos. Only 3 bars open to non members and the lighthouse bar never seemed open. The beer is terrible, no Corona or Pacifico and the tropical drinks are just premixed sweet sugar bombs. Alcohol is very watered down and even the lobby bar did not have top shelf liquors. Bartenders were not friendly at all. And the member only bar doesn’t say so it’s only after you wait in line the bartender tells you to get lost. Please label the members only areas - it very embarrassing for non members to be publicly humiliated. Same thing happened at the breakfast area - we ate at the same table all week and were waited on and no one said anything and then we went on the last day and were told loudly we couldn’t sit there that that area was for” special” people the members. Wow. Again no sign There are 3 pools all very nice and clean. One is adults only. This is also where member seating and upgraded cabana sets are. The cabana set cost 1800 pesos and are marked private memebers club but some rude entitled people just sit there and no one kicks them out so hy would anyone pay? All pools need some maintenance as there are tiles and concrete missing in parts. One hot tub was broken one was operating. The operating hot tub was only open 10-4 and needed a lot of work. All the pools have the worst handrailing set up I have ever seen. The hand rails don’t start until you are in the pool and going down the stairs 1 1/2 to 2 ft in from the edge of the pool so if you need the hand rail for injuries or disability you might need help getting in and out . Very dangerous . The main pool BOOMS music ALL DAY long starting at 10 am which also blasts into most rooms as well so don’t plan on naps. There are activities and exercise classes. There is little shade in any pools No lifeguards. Beach is not swimmable like many parts of Los Cabos but hearing the surf when the music finally stopped was nice. Many beach vendors which is probably why no one sits on the loungers on the beach under the palm trees. No Palapas or umbrellas . Every day they cooked something in the afternoon by the beach - ahi, paella, ceviche etc. Some people seemed to like it. If you go on vacation to enjoy good food this is not the place. Like most all inclusives it’s not the best. Breakfast was the best but to be fair we bring our own butter, jam and ketchup to these places because what they offer is horrible. And if you like coffee in the morning be prepared to add another $6 US to you daily spend to get a decent coffee at the Starbucks located on site. I’m convinced they have a deal with them to serve awful coffee. It’s undrinkable at the restaurants. There are crepes sometimes but all sickly sweet and an egg station that saved me. Made to order omelettes and fried eggs etc. Boiled eggs and scrambled in the steamer trays. Always sausage, sometimes bacon but the egg lady hides it and you have to ask. There is toast and inedible dry pastries. Pancakes and waffles with not really any good sit in steam tables. Gross syrup. I actually spit out the waffle it tasted disgusting, No hashbrowns only unseasoned potatoes that seem to be left over from another meal. There are chilaquiles, cereal with actual good non uht milk, yogurt bar, salads , other hot foods and fruit. The fruit is fresh and plentiful, Fill up there you may starve the rest of the day. Lunch is the pool bar - decent pico di gallo and chips, runny guacamole, fries, burgers and hot dogs that may be mystery meat. There is also some heavy pizza with orange cheese. You may also eat at the upper buffet where there’s salads, pasta one day that wasn’t great, meats cheeses, assorted hot stuff and the thing I lived on cream soups. The cream soups were actually pretty good. Except today when we went to the upper buffet only to find it closed and we had to go down to the beach buffet. Please why can people just know where to go? It’s never clear where to eat. Also out last night was fried seafood and sushi so if you don’t eat seafood you’d starve. We had a bowl of soup for dinner that is it on our last night. This was some of the worst food we’ve ever had at an all inclusive. Dinner is more ofthe tragic lunch offerings . The 3 sit down restaurants need to be booked on an ap that does not work. I didn’t even bother just told the concierge I heard it didn’t work and to please book a dinner and he did. We only ate at the Italian place. I feel sorry for people who say the ITALIAN WAS INCREDIBLE AND AMAZING. THey must not go out much. Soup and salad was ok. Lasagne a bit weird but doable, pasta carbonara was nothing like an actual carbonara abd just the noodles were picked out. The chicken dish was like chicken strips and fries. Weird. Dessert was meh. The highlight is this place is the grounds. Landscaping is beautiful and well done and well kept. Entertainment kinda lame. Mexican night was ok. This place is average for a Mexican all inclusive but if you want to eat either go out or stay somewhere else. Most of the staff was lovely.
