Apr 12, 2026Do not stay unless you plan to be out day and night
Booked through Agoda. We were given a room on the 9th floor. It was nothing like the photos. It was dated, reasonably unclean - the carpet had many stains - and the kitchen sink doubled as the bathroom sink. The bathroom was very old and tired. We did not stay the night. The establishment is not a hotel in the usual sense, more condos rented out. The neighbour had the tv on so loud it felt like she was in our room. There is also lots of traffic noise. At the point we saw a cockroach we decided it was time to leave! To be fair the staff approved a refund without much of an argument which we appreciated. The location is also right in the middle of everything. We just felt very misled.

Booked here with my other half for my birthday weekend and Joseph checked us in and gave us the best customer service! Super friendly staff and would definitely recommend staying here for a comfortable affordable stay!

So i rented an air b and b here. The unit was fine. But I have mobility issues and after 3 weeks wanted to rent a jeep. The Jeep price was good. But island colony charges 50 dollars a night be ause we're here on a holiday. So they think it's ok we get charged outrageous prices for parking. I've lived here and it has really gone downhill here in Waikiki. Prices are really high and they ripped out a huge tourist destination which is the international market place. Now all high end stores for the rich. Locals are homeless and literally pissing on the side of the side walk on kuhio and seaside corner( just up the street from island colony). It smells like urine and garbage everywhere. Took a bus to ala Moana and got someone's snot on my knee. I was so grossed out. It's really gone down hill and is more for the rich Chinese and Japanese. A concrete jungle with palm trees. Won't be back again. Lots of tourists I spoke with have said the same. There disappointed like I am. Sad how they think it's ok to rip us off. We work hard and save for our vacations and they think it's ok to rip us off.

Jun 16, 2025No consolation at all for a no room service for the entire stay
The front desk were helpful except they declined to keep our luggages with our red- eye flight. They called on the 3rd day apologizing that they cannot clean our room and asked if they can clean it after the 4th night. We declined since we just have one more night and then we leave. They declined keeping our luggages when we had a red- eye flight. They did inform us they can keep our bags when we checked-in. I wish they did as a consolation to them not giving us any room service. It’s an okay hotel. You will be with other condo owners and air bnb customers in this hotel.

Beware of "smoke free property" description.
Our troubles started immediately we checked into our room. It was the room was not cleaned at all after the last guest. Bed linen and towels has stains, and there were hair strands in the washroom sink. They came and did a complete clean up the following day. Despite being advertised as a "smoke free property", we were constantly exposed to cannabis smoke from the apartment right below ours. I was having headaches and my spouse was constantly nauseous. We planned a one week vacation, but this hotel was ruining it for us. We complained to reception several times. Initially, we didn't know where the smoke was coming from but we eventually had a visual of the individual on the balcony right below ours. I believe they sent security to chat with this individual once or twice but the smoke didn't stop. We were advised it's not a non-smoking property. "the rooms are non-smoking but the lanai are not non-smoking". Apparently, this individual was within his right to smoke. We demanded to be moved to another room which eventually occurred. Of course, the move took a half day of our vacation time. It was not the experience we had anticipated. We decided to leave out actual room numbers in this review.
