am writing to raise a formal complaint regarding my recent stay at Marriott International. I contacted the hotel today at approximately 19:50 to enquire about a deposit that has not yet been refunded. During this call I spoke with a staff member named Jean. Instead of addressing my query, I was told that I had breakfast at the hotel and that I checked out at 1:30pm. I clearly explained that this was incorrect, as I left the hotel at approximately 6:29am and did not have breakfast. Despite this, Jean continued to insist that breakfast had been taken and even suggested that “perhaps someone else in the room had breakfast.” This assumption was made without any verification and felt inappropriate and unhelpful. At no point was my actual concern the missing deposit properly addressed. Additionally, the tone of the conversation came across as dismissive and rude. I would appreciate it if you could: • Investigate and confirm the status of my deposit refund • Correct any inaccurate charges or records associated with my stay • Review the handling of this interaction, as it did not reflect an acceptable level of customer service I would appreciate a prompt response and resolution to this matter.

Deposit
Hi we stayed here last weekend the stay was lovely but we were charged a £40 refundable deposit on arrival which we haven’t received back does anybody know how long this usually takes thanks

Apr 06, 2026Nice staff, but very uncomfortable stay
Stayed here recently and it was a bit of a mixed experience. The location is okay—it’s in the city centre so there are things around and it’s easy enough to get to places. The staff were really nice and welcoming, which made a good first impression. Unfortunately, the comfort of the room really let it down. The beds were extremely uncomfortable—very hard, with no real support, and honestly felt like sleeping on cardboard. On top of that, the bed didn’t feel stable at all and seemed to move or shift easily, which made it even harder to relax or get a proper night’s sleep. The walls are also very thin, so you can hear pretty much everything from other rooms, including conversations and movement, which was quite disruptive, especially at night. Overall, while the staff were lovely, the lack of comfort—especially the beds—means I wouldn’t stay here again.
